Hi guys !
I'm new to the forum today and have just brought myself a 400 bandit as a non runner !
Lovely little ( old ) bike
Clocks say 29,000 Kms
It's in good nick brand new tires and 12months Mot...
Onto the bad bit !

It will not start when hot !

Starts easy from cold !!

I have done valve clearances pretty sure they are all ok now !
Stripped carbs cleaned everything poked wire through all opens and sprayed carb cleaner through, all jets are standard needles are on 2 from top and replaced o-rings with vitons
Mixtures are on 2-1/2 turns out

And it still wouldn't go so I proceeded to do a compression test

1 - 98
2 - 92
3 - 92
4 - 92
Engine was semi warm wide open throttle

I added some oil to each cylinder and re tested

1 - 145
2 - 125
3 - 125
4 - 125
I'm guessing it's pointing to worn out rings
Any one got any thoughts on this ??

Much appreciated

Check this link. It could be something due to your temperature it's at and it getting too hot.

Even if it's for cars still has general purpose
