What chain oil you use? Which works and do not make a mess.

Over the years I've tried many different oil's, wax's and dry grease, I've gone back to the old school EP90 gear oil and brush it on most times when I get back from a ride icon_thumright I know it's a pain but that way it's done while the chain is still warm and soaks in better  notworthy Brush it on and wipe off any excess and that's it, my chain normally last between 10 and 15 thousand miles so it can't be too far out  Wave

Use spray on dry or wet ones also use thick grease when weather is bad keep the rust away yes it ends up under bike but good wash with paraffin sorts that

It's very far out for what a chain can actually do!!...a good chain is capable of doing double that mileage, John.  Shocked Dirty Harry uses a similar system and has gotten double that.

I've had only 2 chains on my bike in 67k miles. The original factory chain lasted 33k. The present and 2nd chain has 34k up on it and is still going strong. I'm using a Scottoiler. Zero cleaning or oiling and no mess....nearest thing to having a shaft drive. Excellent if you are doing serious miles each week and haven't time or care to spend time on dirty chain maintenance.

Using motor oil I broke 2 chains drag racing and have stretched several early.

Since switching to PJ1 "blue label" chain lube and EK brand chain I've more than doubled the mileage and the chain is still good.

I have found it easiest to brush with Kerosene, wipe dry, and then spray on the inside loops to protect the O'Rings.

I bought the EK chain because it's on the World Land Speed Record and it's literally twice as good as 4 other brands I've tried.

Motor oil is messy and flies off.
PJ1 is synthetic and stays put.
