For the price of a filter its worth changing every time and for the oil 10/40 part synth motorcycle halfords or castrol are my choices as money (and trade card) allow.

Hi Raymond don't put in Full synthetic oil in your bike or your clutch will start to slip after some time.
the engine is not designed for full synthetic oil as some race bikes
Its not the same as putting in Full synthetic oil in your car.
Just make sure that it has a API SL JASO MA-2 spec on the oil can.

Castrol power 1  10w-40 is a very good start, but don't put in the 10w-40 Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T Synthetic Motorcycle Engine Oil.
an other good oil is motul 5100 10w-40 if you have a sticking gear change.

Halfords or as we now them as Halfrauds own brand oil is made by Esso UK for  all car and motorcycles.

Again all above have the API SL JASO MA-2 spec

Agree with the other comments use semi synthetic 10 40 and don't waste your money on full synthetic. Halfords semi 10 40 is fine.

In relation to clutch slip, I always understood it was putting car oil in a bike that causes slip because of the additives. People often used fully synthetic 10 40 car oil (usually mobil ) because it was far cheaper than the bike equivalent and this was the eventual cause of clutch slip when the additives built up on the plates. I don't think specific bike fully synthetic would cause slip, you're just wasting money.
